
Alex holds a postgraduate degree in Building History from the University of Cambridge and an undergraduate degree in Ancient and Medieval History from Cardiff University. He specialises in analysing historic fabric and assessing heritage significance. A particular focus of this work has been on ecclesiastical sites in London, having worked on Westminster Abbey and St James’s Church, Piccadilly whilst working for Ptolemy Dean Architects.
Alex has previous experience as a heritage consultant and working practically in historic building conservation. At The Townscape Consultancy he conducts historical research, and assists in writing heritage, townscape and visual impact assessments.
