Prior to this, she studied MA Cultural Heritage Studies at the UCL Institute of Archaeology and graduated with Honours from the Higher School of Economics (Moscow, Russia) with a BA degree in History. Before joining The Townscape Consultancy, Maria worked as a planning officer in the Southwark Council, which helped her gain a better understanding of the planning system and how it is applied to large developments in Central London.
At The Townscape Consultancy, she conducts historical research and assists with the preparation of heritage statements and townscape assessments. In her role, Maria hopes to broaden her knowledge of the historic environment and learn to decipher London’s complex, multi-layered townscapes.
