Philip trained as an architect and has taught extensively throughout Europe. In London he has lectured in the City Design school of the Royal College of Art and taught workshops at the Bartlett School of Architecture and the Architecture Association. He recently completed an MSc in Urban Planning Studies at the London School of Economics, graduating with distinction and authoring his dissertation on the relationship between spatial perception and neighbourhood satisfaction.

Before joining The Townscape Consultancy, Philip worked as a visualisation specialist in Paris and technical director of the company he cofounded in Milan. His work is widely published, and he has collaborated with numerous acclaimed design and architecture firms including Fosters and Partners, Heatherwick Studio, PLP and Allies Morrison in the UK. With more than ten years of experience managing complex digital processes he has established a strong professional skillset specialised in digital communications, spatial analysis, and design development. He advocates for refined and high-quality design solutions, bringing a precise critical eye to townscape and visual impact assessments at The Townscape Consultancy.

At TTC Philip works on projects at a multitude of scales, from planning submissions for extensions to listed buildings and buildings within conservation areas, to new towers in the City of London, Vauxhall, and Canary Wharf, and larger master planning studies at an urban scale. His past consented projects include:

  • City Road, Islington, a three storey extension to locally listed late Victorian commercial building with Stiff and Trevillion for Native Land.
  • Great Sutton Street, Islington, an extension and recladding of a post-war office buildings within the Hat and Feathers Conservation Area with Piercy and Co for Nuveen.
  • Grosvenor Street, Westminster, two extensions with BGY and TP Bennett on opposite sides of the Mayfair axis, each within a conservation area and the setting of numerous listed buildings.
  • Kingsway, Westminster, conversion and extension of a large mid-twentieth office building at the boundary of multiple conservation areas.
  • Wyvil Road, Lambeth, adjustment of an existing consent for a new high-quality tall building at the edge of the Vauxhall Cluster with PRP Architects.
  • Park Royal Road, twin developments of mid-rise and tall building in OPDC working with MacCreanor Lavington for Hallmark Property.
  • Timberyard, Lewisham, a large-scale residential development in Deptford landings for AHMM Architects and Lend Lease.
  • London Road, Barking, an ensemble of three residential blocks with Hawkins Brown for Robyna.
