333 Oxford Street (Zara)
City of WestminsterThe Townscape Consultancy provided heritage, townscape and visual impact advice for the refurbishment of Zara’s flagship store at 333 Oxford Street, a prominent corner building at the junction of Oxford Street and New Bond Street in London’s West End. Designed by Studio Zara, the proposals sought to enhance the building’s appearance through a façade refresh, including new glazing, the removal of redundant architectural elements and improvements to the ground-floor frontage, while retaining the existing building envelope.
Our work considered the site’s location within the Mayfair Conservation Area, its relationship with nearby listed buildings and its contribution to the character and appearance of Oxford Street and New Bond Street. The proposals deliver a more coherent and contemporary architectural expression, enhancing a key retail destination within one of London’s most internationally recognised shopping streets.
