75 London Wall, City of London

City of London

75 London Wall received consent in June 2024. The proposal for Castleforge involves the reconfiguration of a 1990s development by Swanke Hayden Connell Architects in the City of London. Located at the threshold of the City Cluster, within the northern boundary of the ancient Roman city, the building is located at the edge of the Bank Conservation Area, on a long curve of the roadway configured around the grade I listed Church of All Hallows in the Wall. The design by Orms responds sensitively to this heritage context and appropriates the architectural grammar of the existing building with extensions and adjustments to its massing. The result will revitalise the existing building, provide a new passageway and public space on Winchester Street, improve the character of the local area, and activate this northern edge of the City Cluster.
