Timber Square, Lavington Street

Timber Square, Lavington Street

London Borough of Southwark

A net zero carbon scheme, this project combines a 15 storey new building with an extended 1950s printworks.  The architecture draws on the gritty industrial character of the street to the south of Southwark Street. With new and extended buildings taller than their surroundings and on narrow street, the townscape analysis was able to demonstrate that this would be an appropriate addition to the townscape that would enhance its attractively varied setting.
