Mastmaker Village

London Borough of Tower Hamlets

Mastmaker Village redevelops a brownfield site to create a new neighbourhood on the Isle of Dogs. The mixed-use scheme includes co-living units, affordable housing, a community hub, and a school (in outline), set within a landscape of generous green spaces.
We worked closely with Squire & Partners to ensure the proposals respond sensitively to their context, drawing on the area’s rich industrial heritage. This is expressed through the architectural detailing of the co-living and affordable housing buildings, which take inspiration from railway tracks and dock cranes respectively.
The scheme delivers significant improvements to the townscape, with active frontages and accessible, welcoming public spaces.
