Sensitive alterations to an iconic Grade II listed building, originally constructed in 1930 and extensively refurbished in 2007. Using a close analysis of the historic development and existing building fabric, we ensured that the proposed interventions would preserve and enhance the significance of the listed building and its contribution to the Whitefriars Conservation Area. This involved the creation of detailed significance plans and thorough archival research.

Working closely with architects KPF, we helped to shape proposals for rooftop alterations, carefully responding to key planning and heritage constraints, including the London View Management Framework (LVMF) and the St Paul’s Heights Study. The resulting development successfully balances the delivery of high-quality Grade A office space with a sensitive response to the site’s heritage significance.
