60 Gracechurch Street, CoL

City of London

The project vision included:

  • Building the Ecosystem for Destination City: A proposal that is differentiated, active all day and all year round whilst still being uniquely attractive to office tenants.
  • Creating a Distinctive & Quality Landmark: A statement building, that is easily recog¬nisable on the skyline but also provides out¬standing commercial performance.
  • Creating a Memorable User Experience: A range of amenities, terraces at every floor level, private spaces and a unique arrival experience for the office occupiers.
  • Leading the way in Sustainability & Wellbeing: A proposal beyond embracing circular economy, well-being and technology innovations.

The outcome of this is a new 36 storey commercial tower for the City. The first of a new generation of office buildings, the most sustainable of its kind, 60 Gracechurch Street will sit on the western edge of the cluster and provide a wide range of public benefits, including a new learning space focused on the heritage of the City. Alongside a high quality and distinctive tower that adds a stunning architectural element to the City Cluster, and podium design that interprets and references the historic street frontage of Gracechurch Street, the publicly accessible open air roof garden – the tallest open air roof terrace in the City – will afford spectacular uninterrupted views west across the Bank conservation area and beyond.
