Aberfeldy Village, Tower Hamlets

London Borough of Tower Hamlets

A joint venture between Poplar HARCA and EcoWorld London that, when complete, will provide up to 1,628 homes as well as new retail units, workspaces, restaurants and cafes. The masterplan aims to transform the existing Aberfeldy Estate into a new urban village, that integrates elements of its industrial past and nearby historic buildings to help connect it with the townscape of the wider area. Public spaces such as Leven Road Open Space, Braithwaite Park and Highland Place are integral to the masterplan, as are new transit routes that include the newly pedestrianised Abbott Road vehicular underpass. The masterplan was shortlisted for two New London Awards in the Masterplans and Area Strategies, and the Mixed Use, categories.
